Greetings fellow gors.

I have begun work on my general to my Beast armies and would like to know what you think of his background so far.
Here are some quite basic points I have on him.

Background: The first sighting of Endra was only a few years after the creation of the great vortex. Some say that he has been around longer but as an unknown entity, not as a physical being.

-He resembled that of a Beastlord but has many defining features.
His face is skull like with white luminous eyes. He has a mane of dark hair that flowed down from the far back of his head. His most acknowledging feature though are the two great horns that spire up from both sides of his head.
His shoulders also spire one, somewhat smaller horn on each side. His top legs are dark fur clad, while his lower legs are formed in the way a beastman’s did. His skin is shadowy grey in colour.

-He first gathered a small tribe of local beastmen by killing their champion in a completely one-sided combat. He then lead small raids to neighbouring towns and villages and sacked them bare.
-He was soon able to summon lesser daemons from the aethyr to his forces. The most common of these were the furies.

-Eventually Endra had pleased the chaos gods so much that he was gifted with the ultimate prize and became a daemon prince.
Unlike most daemon princes Endra wasn’t gifted with wings. Though this stunned him at first he soon came to realise why this useful gift was left from him.
His bestial fur vanished with his transformation but he retained his long mane of dark hair.
He also sprouted additional horns on each side of his shoulders.
On his back was engraved the black star of chaos in his skin.

-Once a Daemon Prince he started to gain mortal followers as well as his loyal bestial followers.

cheers.

A face of Shroud He Holds.
Remaining unnoticed behind his Helm.
His Armour, leaking of a dark ooze.
Dripping cries of lost souls.
The souls cry tales of his time and past
for he himself had longsince forgotten it.

The background is quite creative. Sadly, though, if you do not know this, the chaos mortals and, I think, chaos deamons cannot mingle with BoC armies any more, because the mortals got a new rule book after the BoC rulebook came out, completely negating the option of allowing mortals in your forces. I'm not sure about deamons... Can I get some "senior" member help on that question on that? Also, what events made the chaos gods recognise him, and eventually led to his ascent? I know the chaos gods don't notice you if you just pillage farms...Believe me. I tried that once. Didn't work out well, at all...
Plus, why did he realize why he didn't get wings? I'm a little confused on that one...
Besides the draw backs of not being to take mortals, your general seems truely unique, as most BoC generals are, because...Let's face it. Beasts of chaos have so much choice of models and your ideas about how you want them to be, it isn't even funny. I hope You'll have fun painting him! And... If you make an army, be sure to make an army diary.

Well with my beast army I am using him in the years before he turned into a Daemon Prince to compensate for the chaos split. Though he still does change in the fluff.

On the chaos gods I haven't figured it out yet but I know that he does please them eventually to be gifted. He actually doesn't become one until he is around 800 years old.

He wasn't gifted wings because later on (500+ years later) he learns ablilites that enable him to fly without the need of wings. Using the dark powers of chaos he can morph his form into dark vapour and soar through the skies. This gives him more advantages because the wings don't hinder him because of their size and if somehow they are beated, beyond repair.

With the Furies, they are more of a fluff thing but if in the next book we get a flyer unit I will use the fruies to represent them.

cheers.

I think it all looks great. Sure, the rules may not be able to do it all anymore, but you can counts as stuff to represent it, and the background of mixed chaos does still exist. With some details, it might be worth waiting and seeing what's available in the list (for example, maybe your winged beastlord is allowed?).

And in all honesty there are places with the FAQ means absolutely nothing. It's the FAQ that kills the book, so some places don't hold it to the flame and allow beasts to still mingle with the old book as intended.

Ahh, I wish my GW did that...It just seems more awesome, and it makes sence. I doubt they'll fix that in the next book, though...

You can always throw a few mortal or daemon units in with your Beasts for casual games with friends. Just use the old HoC daemon rules to represent weaker daemons being summoned to Endra's cause. If you don't have access to HoC, pick up the current daemon book and work out a few nerfs amongst your friends or just take them as is (if they will allow it).

I know. It's all about 50% of people are going
" I HAVE TO WIN! GRAAHHH TESTOSTERONE!"
And an other 50% is like
" Fun, Fun, FLOWERS YAY FUN!"
I think I fit in with the " Lets have a good time and have fun" group...
