Well, since it doesnt look, like we'll get any solid rumours until February, I think we could just talk about what we would like our 3+ new special characters to be
(there had been some rumours on warseer about a supermusician and an Obelix-minotaur, imo both them sound rather stupid)

I personally, hope for a low bufget centi-hero that allows centigors to reroll their drunken rule or maybe a minotaur-hero that allows you to ignore bloodgreed.

What do you think???

Yeah i agree with ya, my first 2 choices would be a hero minotaur and Centigor hero aswell, they don't have to be special characters though.

I expect the daemon tree thing will be in there. An evil treeman sounds like something GW would come up with so I can almost expect to see that. I really don't give a damn what we get for a special character though, I generally hate the bastards. I think the only ones that might make sense is if we get a troll king "hero" choice like model. Something that lets us move specials to core or core models to special. Thus giving us another army design.

A refined Morghur-
Spawning affects enemy units only, but they only test on base LD. If they fail, they take d6 S4 No AS hits and a single 3W spawn is created that is worth 50 VP to kill. Make his ranged and shooting immunity total, but only affect himself (ie templates get stuff next to him but not him if he is in the area of effect.) and cheapen his cost slightly. Get rid of the woods thing and make units in the woods affected by the same rules as if he were within a foot of him. This would make him much more playable and less frustrating.

Kazak and Gothor-
Fine as is.

We should get some sort of Doombull named lord choice with perhaps some Valkyra tricks to him (roll break tests near him) and I think the Troll King should be repeated in our book. Hero level Cenitgor and Dragon Ogre heros might not be bad, either, even if only as unit champ upgrades. I would like to see middle of the road ability on them, similar to WoC and LM books, rather than broken (DoC) or crap level (DE and HE) level unit champ/hero characters.

A minotaur and centigor hero could be intresting and I agree with phazael that khazrak and gorthor seem to be fine but knowing GW they'll most likely fiddle with those as well.

Phazael I would have to disagree with maybe about two things with your refining. One being lowering morghur's cost since he's exactly the same price as gorthor himself but you might have more reasons for the price lowering

The second being maybe have him either in the woods to make the wood ability work or possibly lower the range of him interacting with it maybe since I'm not overly sure if a 12" inch radius is too much but I think mostly that's the only things I could possibly see with disagreements.

Actually I just thought of one other thing that might be a bit rough on low leadership armies and that was your bit about maybe making the enemy units take a leadership test on base leadership for it spawn rule and in the rulebook it mentions if there's different leadership values to use the highest so I don't know if you had that in mind when you made that idea or not.

Edit: I somehow managed to get gorthor and moghur matching the same cost when there not the same cost at all so that invalidates my same cost argument up above.

I think Gorthor is over priced after playing him a bit. Neat - definitely, but the cost could come down to make him more in step with other special characters.

If they don't enhance ambush, I'd like to see a special character fill that gap somehow. Khazrak is cool, but it is still a turn 3 charge after standing around in the open for a turn.

All of our special characters are overpriced compared to new ones. Gorthor once you're past 2500 pts isn't bad though. Having Ld9 without sacrificing ambush is pretty handy (and was better when the book was released).

I wouldn't be surprised if there were special champions available for centigors, bestigors and minotaurs.

I would be surprised if we didn't get a hero for each mark added. The tzeentch special character might be a fighter/caster to fill the lost option.

As a guess...we keep our current characters as lords, then get marked heroes for special characters.

I guess I just don't see khazrak as overpriced even compared to new lords but then I'm rather odd with my thinking sometimes as for ghorthor and moghur they might be but like I said my thinking is rather odd at times.

Khazrak is almost 300 pts for a Ld8 general with no ward save. He has some neat rules that make him worthwhile in the right builds, and it is possible to use him for a near guaranteed draw, but he's pretty expensive.

hmm yeah very true like I said my thinking is odd and I never get a chance to play since there's no place close by but then if I did get to play I wouldn't most likely care if I won or lost as long as I got to play with things I like khazrak being one of them.

I just hope that having a varied/different army isn't dependent upon taking certain special characters. I would rather generic Minotaur and Centigor heroes rather some boring/broken SC.

Plaguebeast

PS A note on my opinion of SCs: I think SCs should be confined to large games/campaigns, and even then with an opponent's permission. If you want to play with SCs every game, play Warmachine/Hordes. I prefer creating my own characters and background.

I Really still hope we get to take the Shaggoth Champion, and I hope we keep Dragon ogre Shaggoths as a rare choice. It's a really great model and I don't want mine to start collecting dust.

I hope we get a shaggoth special character like Kholec Suneater.

Don't a few shaggoths collect dust lately.

My as for the matter of SCs coming from a nongaming point of view some I just can't see being in every single battle like I know it isn't a beasts character but teclis seems to be one that annoys people a lot or I just been seeing random complaints out of thin air about him but anyways I wouldn't mind seeing him maybe near the end of a campaign in a big battle but if I had to fight him at lower points and keep fighting him over and over it might get a bit odd or dull whatever your word choice.

Not that I can say much following my above comment in this post since I wouldn't mind using khazrak a lot I just enjoy his background a lot have since fifth edition and gorthor isn't bad background wise either so yeah like I said I can't say much.

I just hope we get an ungor special character. He should be ten feet tall and can shoot fireballs out his arse and lightning bolts from his eyes. But seriously An ungor special character that lets you take an army of only ungors. Ungors on chariots, Ungor BSBs, ungors riding centigors ........ blink.gif ..............

Bah, I'd rather take Grimm-gor, that only lets you take gors.
