First of all, may I, ~*N*~ and the rest of the administration team welcome you to the Yoshi Forum Network! In a nutshell, we're a dedicated Yoshi forum run by dedicated Yoshi fans. While you'll get extremely close to talking to actual Yoshi's, you won't, shamefully, heh, but you'll get the chance to talk about anything Yoshi, General, and we're one of the few forums out there that has a 'spam land'. Although it's called Spam land, there are still limits to what you can put!

1. Why we're the Yoshi Forum Network.

We're a network because we're the hub of a network of fansites dedicated to Yoshi, mario and other sites that support us and post actively on the board. Our network consists of sites that use TYFN as their forums, each site is given their own sub forum on TYFN, which can be found on the Networked Sites forum. You can become a member of the network if you run your own site dedicated to Yoshi or Mario, are an active member of tyfn and link back to us. There are other requirements but you'll see them in the Network
Application Topic since that will be updated more than Yoshi's greeting. In the end, it's the staff's decision whether you are accepted into our network, or not accepted.

You can also send affiliation requests to crazy4yoshi@hotmail.com. Affiliates do get their button posted on every page of TYFN, but do not get their own sub forum on TYFN, if you already have forums on your site then you may consider becoming an Affiliate instead of a Network Site. Due to the amount of submissions we get, we may not get back to you straight away. If you wish your application to be decided quicker, you can PM
PinkFloydYoshi or email him at administrator@spyro24uk.com. 'Pink' logs into TYFN everyday to check everythings in order and stays logged in through the day. Still, Pink can't do everything since he runs his own site and furthermore, updates on another Yoshi based site and moderates on a further 2 boards. Please allow him upto 24 hours to get to you.

2. The rules and regulations, and what's expected of you as a valued member of the forum.

The forum rules are straightforward and are easily carried out, but please don't let them scare you. They're here to make everyone's stay an enjoyable one.

Punishment Levels:

x = Warn Level Raise and or Suspension
xx = Warn Level Raise, Suspension and or Account Ban
xxx = Instant Permanent Account Ban
x+ = For each time you break this rule, the punishment becomes greater

1) Do not fight with or against other members on the forum (also called flame wars). This is type of behavior can result in you being warned, suspended or even banned completely from TYFN. Differences in opinions does not mean flaming, it's when things get "violent" against other's beliefs is when we consider it a flame war.

If you happen to start an argument between a member of Team Yoshi, your life here is at their disposal.

2) Cussing or swearing will not be tolerated in the forum. It is showing your lack of vocabulary, plus it's insulting to others. Your punishment depends on the administrator for bad language. Remember, there are younger users on the forum.

If you find someone swearing or cussing, please use the 'Report' button at the right hand side of the post and write down what you feel is offensive. We can instantly catch people abusing the report button very quickly since each time it's pressed, all administrators(Members of Team Yoshi) get an email regarding the post. We will decide your fate very quickly.

3) Absolutely no posting of pornographic images or illegal material and or links to such adult content.

4) No posting of images that could possibly be disturbing, offensive or inappropriate.

5) Do not create topics that could possibly insult, make fun of or offend other members in any way. (example - topic title: "Vote Here If You Want ___ member banned!")

6) Do not create multiple accounts/usernames. If you absolutely must create a new account (although we discourage it), please notify an admin so your old account can be deleted or removed. This is considered as mass spam so don't do it!

This get's all of Team Yoshi angry, so don't do it.

7) Please do not help banned or suspended members back into the forums! Why do we have this rule? Well, in the past we have had various members permanently banned, but were helped back into TYFN by another member(s) by creating a new account for them, lying for them etc... Although you may just be lending a helping hand, in the end it will hurt TYFN and yourself.

8) Member Impostering/IP Spoofing is not allowed and are illegal actions. Here on TYFN, this can result in instant punishments, since it causes alot of controversy for the admins, mods and concerned members even if you are just fooling around. Doing this includes creating new accounts with VERY similar names as another members', changing your Custom Rank to things such as "Administrator" and so on, changing your IP Address to match anothers, lying and saying your another member etc...

TYFN's Assurance of this is PinkFloydYoshi. He CAN tell if you're spoofing another members IP Address, and has, and will do again, report actions to the Internet Service Provider you're getting internet from.

9) Plagerism is a rare occurence in TYFN, but when it does happen, it must be taken seriously. Plagerism is taking other people's work and claiming it as your own without proper information that tells where you got your source from. To prevent this, just add quotes and a source from where you got your words from and you'll be ok. Remmeber, this is a rare occurence and can rarely be spotted by one of the staff. One way you could get busted from it is if another member recalls seeing what you posted from somewhere else.

10) Harassment of another member in any way will not be tolerated. Whether it's attacking their forum, spamming their mailbox's, or IP spoofing. If we recieve any complaints about one member of ours harassing another member of ours, we will warn you. We're a community here, please try and keep the peace.

11) Please, please, please refrain from posting topics about what you did at school today, what your friends do, and online diary entries. You're just one person in a million people using the internet right now, nobody could care less about what you did or going to do. Seriously, stop making those kinds of topics, they're spammy and contribute no discussion at all. Even in Spam Land it'll be
closed. Nobody cares, nobody ever will. Period.

And, Spam specifically...

* Posting SPAM or spamming on TYFN will result in instant punishment, including the rise of your warn level, suspension and possibly the banning of your account.

The following things are considered as SPAM at TYFN:

a) Double, Triple , etc. posting (posting directly after another of your posts).
We do this to prevent people from "cheating" to become a top poster or to increase their post level.

b) Creating posts or messages with just emoticons only and or creating posts with 3 words or less. These posts tend to be rather stupid or pointless. We consider it as just another technique used to try and cheat your post level up.

c) Advertising other websites or posting in a commercial nature, to benefit you (You may advertise your website in the TYFN Billboard).

d) Even in Spam Land, creating multiple Spam topics in a short time period is prohibited! By doing this you are just flooding TYFN with useless, short, pointless topics. Sure creating two or three spam topics in Spam Land is fine,
but not 5, 6, 7, 8 etc... Your just making a mess for the mods and admins to clean up.

e) Posting a topic in Spam Land just to multipost and raise the overall post count isn't allowed anymore. It's considered cheating and it makes TYFN look bad. If we find you doing this, we'll close or delete the topic.

Since spam has become a popular thing to do on forums -_-, TYFN has created a forum just to release your Spam cravings. This forum is called "Spam Land". Obviously your post count will not increase in this forum, but all spamming
rules may be broken exclusively in Spam Land yet, ALL OTHER FORUM RULES STILL APPLY. Spam will be tolerated to a limited amount in "Shy Guy's Arcade" as well. Although these forums exist, please still keep spam to a minimum!

Admin's Note: If you continue to get on our nerves with spam anywhere, like mass amounts of it, we'll just ban you automatically, so just please don't annoy us! An example of this would be like a 1 time poster who posts his/her site all over the place and only does that and/or never comes back again, just to gain extra hits.

As you can see, our rules are basic, simple and easy to follow. As long as you keep within our guidelines, your time at TYFN will be most enjoyable!

Complaints and Problems

Not staying logged in? You're having an issue with cookies.

There has been confusion about getting a password to a certain forum, trying to get in, saying that it worked, but then takes you back to the password screen. The reason is that your cookie standards are too high. Go to "Tools > Internet Options > Privacy" and set the bar to "Accept all cookies" Allowing all cookies will make it easier to log into your account, post in forums, compose PM's and get you into those password protected forums. (Provided that you actually HAVE the password!) If you've set the cookie bar down and still can't get into a forum, please contact an Administrator via PM or Email.

Poll's, and the problem people face with them.

If you've made a poll, and wonder to yourself as to what you've done wrong, Follow these simple steps to ensure that your poll work's, first time.

1. Click Add poll at either the top, or bottom of the page.
2. In the first box, Make sure that it say's 'Single Choice', not anything else. If it's not that by default, change it.
3. Type your fields into the large box below in this format:

Pineapple
Melon
Apple
Chillipepper

Then type in your topic details, and you're done. One working poll. If you do make a hash of it, let an admin know, and they'll sort it out for you.

Any other problems, complaints and other issues regarding TYFN and or it's members should be PMed to an active administrator. If no administrator's are active, pm your note to PinkFloydYoshi, or another administrator.

The end of the beginning

Having read all this, be proud of yourself. Not only have you found out how to overcome simple issues, and how to not break rules on accident, you can post without fear, but wait. We're missing something. If you correctly read it, you'll notice we missed out a line almost 98% of forums have. Bumping. Here, it is allowed to allow free continuation of all topics, so you can post without fear of bumping. Well, now thats cleared up, I, and the rest of your tyfn crew welcome you to The Yoshi Forum Network.
