Texas-born Jensen Ackles is said to have once auditioned for the role of Clark Kent for Smallville back in late 2000. Obviously, he did not get the role. Now, he joins Smallville with its fourth season as Jason Teague, a young man Lana meets on her journey to Paris.

You might remember Jensen as "C.J." on Dawson's Creek or as "Alec" on Season Two of Dark Angel. He starred in a series for FOX titled Still Life that was supposed to become a midseason series, but obviously never materialized. Soap fans remember Jensen for several years as "Eric Brady" on Days of our Lives.

Interesting trivia: Jensen's father, Alan Ackles, is also an actor. He appeared on episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger and Dallas.
