the 2005 season will see the pairing of Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli, the 3rd driver being Olivier Panis and 4th Driver Ricardo Zonta. Ryan Briscoe, Friday tester from season 2004 has been released from his contract.

Toyota are rumoured to have the biggest budget in F1, even bigger than Ferrari yet their success has been scarce. In 4 years of F1, they have yet to claim a podium or finish higher than 7th in the WCC. The deadlock of not claiming a P1 was broken at the Japanese GP (04) by debutant Jarno Trulli. He then went on to qualify P6 and finish P10.

Toyota in 2005 see's two highly experienced (if not providing conclusive evidence) and talented ( blink.gif @ Ralf) drivers, who aim to bring the team forward.

With the car being designed by Mike Gasgoyne for the 2nd year running (who designed the highly impressive R23 and R23B) can Toyota finally unlock that potential they have, or will it be another season of discontent. With Ralf rumoured to have a 6 Race and your out (due to non performing) clause in his contract, will he be out before he's got going? And can Jarno build on that fantastic 2004, cruelly ruined by 1 mans quest for his driver's success biggrin.gif . Only time will tell

Juano Trulli is good but not as good as some of the other drivers like Kimi and Fernando

the thing is, he's never had the chance to prove himself. Apart from Kimi Raikkonen in F1, he is the only other driver to go straight from Karting to F3000 (or F3) and make immediate impact.

His route to F1 was one that was highly impressive, winning practically everything in Karting, then straight into German F3 with a 2 year old car (team could not afford a new one) he completed the final 6 races, coming 4th in the championship.

Easily winning it the next year biggrin.gif

The only problem is that he's had that many xxxx cars over his time in F1, his full potential has never been realised, and only in scarce few opportunities has he been able to show this.

Austria 1997 for example, had the Prost've held out, he'd of got at worst 2nd. Then the story we have today might be a lot different

Will be intersting to see how the drivers compare to each other in the new car, Jarno having a couple of races experience with team etc. They appear to have a strong driver line up can the car do the business this year too?
