Hi Colourfulfish
Many thanx as always Picture 1) gives you an idea of the size of bags of filter medium's. Picture 2) gives you an idea of the other filter medium. Picture 3) a bit of a failed photo of K1 medium. Picture 4) is the better close up shot of K1 medium. Thanx again to Ian for his kind gift. rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

Hi All
Tried every which way to fit the U/V's we have been given but no go on both. Decided to go and buy the one we had been shown last week at our local fish outlet (can pay for it over a few weeks too It's a 36watt U/VC Clear tec Pond One with two U'V lights and the thing that has decided us on it!!!... This U/VC has a return head that can be rotated to any position to fit the direction needed (which is a new one on us), so that we can work around the problem we had. Will post photo's via colourfulfish later (many thanx again V) rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

Hi All.
Yesterday and today Britain has been buffeted by 60-80 mph winds, driving rain, downed tree's, flooding, power outages and extremely high tides causing flooding in some of the towns around the coast. But it seemed that Plymouth today was sat in the eye of this storm, as we had a very lovely afternoon. Jeff was busy putting up solar powered secturity lights with one covering the pond with the other covering the passageway. rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

Hi ColdGold At one point during the night we were convinced that we were in the middle of a Hurricane the wind was blowing so hard. All the Apples on our tree are now windfalls and if the tree wasn't pegged it would have toppled it was leaning so much. The level of water now in the pond but not out of any tap is up to the first weld (about ten inches)most ofwhich has come down in the last two weeks which is amazing. rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

We had the same thing happen when we put ours in. We had to empty it before we had even filled it -------------------- Maggie

Hi ColdGold It seem's such a waste of water as there must be close to 100-200 gallons UK in the bottom. Now we realise why we need an overflow to drain pipe, rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

Hi Brox, when you say "big freeze" , how cold are we talking about? I heard that the winters there are relatively mild. Did you get the insulation done yet?

HI sabrillo.
We havent had the weather or time to do anything of late Brian being bussy on his Brother in laws pond, Jeff working and Val and I having problems of our own healthwise. So far it's only colder at night but during the day it's quite warm. It's the standing water in the bottom drain we are worried about, we have the new U/VC the pipe work and are ready to go , it's the when again. rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

Hi Dave, don't forget what I told you before...pray to the Sun God
Are the rains we are seeing on our news casts affecting you as much as North England? You are in the South correct? -------------------- Rosie, Mom to: 8 cats

Hi Rosiemeadow
The rains in the North are double what we are getting down here today was a day of high winds and driving rain but we are getting more than normal both of high winds rain, some flooding (but nothing near to the sad events in Cumbria). Jeff and I had a chat this evening to see if he would be willing to carry on in the rain (which we normally wouldnt be asking him), otherwise things are just going to keep on slipping otherwise. We just have to get this all finished before any big freeze starts. rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.

Hi Rosiemeadow Many thanx for that , weve never known so much rain this year it just has to be the wettest one on record. Jeff has agreed to do the little jobs we have on standby like the skimmer drain, support for wooden stake for for U/VC Pump etc, plus the one holding the control box. plus he can do the bricking in of the bottom drain slide valve, dig trench for electrics etc. Then at least we aren't going backwards but slowly forwards again rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 22+ year's we have 14 Koi , 4 Alpine newts, One 12 year old fat cat called Dillon (black in colour apart from a little white patch on his chest)and a rescue female cat aged 3 called Suki (four white socks on her feet white running from her chin to her chest and a white streak down her tummy the rest of her being black , also a fat cat lol)growing collection of fishy art.
