Hi All
Tried every which way to fit the U/V's we have been given but no go on both. sad.gif
Decided to go and buy the one we had been shown last week at our local fish outlet (can pay for it over a few weeks too laugh.gif).
It's a 36watt U/VC Clear tec Pond One with two U'V lights and the thing that has decided us on it!!!... smile.gif
This U/VC has a return head that can be rotated to any position to fit the direction needed (which is a new one on us), so that we can work around the problem we had. smile.gif
Will post photo's via colourfulfish later (many thanx again V) wub.gif

Hi All.
Yesterday and today Britain has been buffeted by 60-80 mph winds, driving rain, downed tree's, flooding, power outages and extremely high tides causing flooding in some of the towns around the coast. ohmy.gif
But it seemed that Plymouth today was sat in the eye of this storm, as we had a very lovely afternoon. cool.gif
Jeff was busy putting up solar powered secturity lights with one covering the pond with the other covering the passageway. smile.gif

Except for the high tides it sounds like our place on and off for the last couple of months wink.gif

Hi ColdGold
At one point during the night we were convinced that we were in the middle of a Hurricane the wind was blowing so hard. sad.gif
All the Apples on our tree are now windfalls and if the tree wasn't pegged it would have toppled it was leaning so much. sad.gif
The level of water now in the pond but not out of any tap is up to the first weld (about ten inches)most ofwhich has come down in the last two weeks which is amazing. ohmy.gif

Hi ColdGold
It seem's such a waste of water as there must be close to 100-200 gallons UK in the bottom. sad.gif
Now we realise why we need an overflow to drain pipe, laugh.gif we should also bring forwards the covers for the vortex's as theyve taken on water as well. smile.gif

Hi Brox, when you say "big freeze" , how cold are we talking about? I heard that the winters there are relatively mild. Did you get the insulation done yet?

HI sabrillo.
We havent had the weather or time to do anything of late Brian being bussy on his Brother in laws pond, Jeff working and Val and I having problems of our own healthwise. smile.gif
So far it's only colder at night but during the day it's quite warm.
It's the standing water in the bottom drain we are worried about, we have the new U/VC the pipe work and are ready to go , it's the when again. unsure.gif

Hi Dave, don't forget what I told you before...pray to the Sun God worship.gif worship.gif worship.gif

Are the rains we are seeing on our news casts affecting you as much as North England? You are in the South correct?

Hi Rosiemeadow
The rains in the North are double what we are getting down here today was a day of high winds and driving rain but we are getting more than normal both of high winds rain, some flooding (but nothing near to the sad events in Cumbria). sad.gif
Jeff and I had a chat this evening to see if he would be willing to carry on in the rain (which we normally wouldnt be asking him), otherwise things are just going to keep on slipping otherwise. sad.gif
We just have to get this all finished before any big freeze starts. smile.gif

Hi Rosiemeadow
Many thanx for that , weve never known so much rain this year it just has to be the wettest one on record. sad.gif
Jeff has agreed to do the little jobs we have on standby like the skimmer drain, support for wooden stake for for U/VC Pump etc, plus the one holding the control box. smile.gif
plus he can do the bricking in of the bottom drain slide valve, dig trench for electrics etc. smile.gif
Then at least we aren't going backwards but slowly forwards again smile.gif
