Over the last month or so I've been noticing more and more performance issues. As it has been over a year since I last reformatted my system, it's about due.
What this means is that I will momentarily be unable to do any work or checking for the next few days while I go through the lengthy process of cleaning, backing up, reformatting, and reinstalling. Most of the files related to the project are already backed up both on a DvD and are being accessed from a non-system hard drive, so they should not be affected. But as I'll be reformatting, I still need to uninstall, then reinstall any games or programs which are also on this drive. Provided nothing major goes wrong, the whole process shouldn't take more than a couple days. I will be uploading the missing mesh for the project and will be burning remaining files to DvD and some of the preliminary work tonight, and be reformatting most of tomorrow (Wednesday). If anything goes wrong, I will post an update from another computer. Wish me luck. *Uploaded patch for missing resources, see Downloads thread* |

Had less to backup and track down than I thought... Though I'll probably be proven wrong. So starting things now.

Ran into a few snags along the way. Still only managed to get windows, antivirus, and basic stuff installed. Will keep you posted.

Finally at the point where I can install Oblivion again. In an effort to keep things interesting, I decided to clean my data folder completely (moving everything to a backup folder, just in case) and see what new options I have for a fresh install. I am still planning to stick with 1.1 and no OBSE. Previously, I was doing OOO and Exnems, this time around I think I'll be skipping the overhaul bit so that my data folder is a bit cleaner, but work with a FF replacement instead.
If the leveled lists annoy me too much, I'll probably just end up throwing something together using the same methods as Colored Rooms spawns, and see how that works. |

Seems like reformatting didn't help one bit. Oblivion's processes still lag horribly, making it nigh impossible for me to test any sort of gameplay sequences where actors actually have to react to something. This doesn't seem to be mod based, so not sure what the problem is. It does however mean that any further work regarding certain sequences with the prologue would need to be done more or less blind to how they would play out for anyone else.
