Cubs Kingdom Guidelines
Cubs Kingdom Rules and Guidelines.
1. Pictures are allowed in signatures, as long as they are tasteful. The same goes with avatars and posts. No nudity please. URL's are allowed in posts, as long as they do not link to porn, or other distasteful material. Signatures should be no taller than 3" and should not stretch off the space allowed for a normal post.
2. Threads are not chat rooms. There is a difference. Threads should follow the original topic they were created for, where chat rooms would be to chat about anything in a Instant Messenger type format. The PM system should be used for personal conversations that do not follow the topic of the thread being posted in. Sure, not all threads have a set topic, but they still shouldn't degrade into 20 consecutive posts by the same two people discussing what they had for breakfast, if they will be online at any given time, how come they didnt respond to a PM, etc. etc. etc.
Thread topics should be respectful. This is a PG site, so please help me keep it that way.
3. Double Posting is a no-no. Double posting is making two consecutive posts in one thread. If you wish to respond to more than one person, please use the quote tags to do this. When submitting a reply, the entire thread can be viewed by scrolling down on the reply screen. Please use this ability to copy the quote you wish to respond to. After doing so you can place the quote tags around them and add "Posted by- ***". Example-
[QUOTE]
Posted by DrunkenDragon-
*Insert copied quote here* [/QUOTE]
This saves space and keeps threads orderly. Also, if you feel the need to change something in your post, please use the Edit button to edit your post instead of double posting your changed post.
4. Please be respectful to your fellow members. Your opinions may vary, and you may not agree with what the person has to say, but respect the fact that everybody has an opinion and they are not always going to be the same as yours.
Realize that not everyone has perfect grammar skills, myself included, so please do not disrespect someone over spelling or use of punctuation. Just because the person didn't pay attention in 4th grade English class doesn't mean that he/she knows nothing about baseball or any other topic.
5. Curse words are frowned upon, but allowed to some extent. The three main curse words have already been put on the word filter, and the rest will be as well if misused, posted repeatedly, or if they are being used too much. Please, do not bypass the filter by changing the spelling of curse words. The filter is there for a reason.
6. Warnings will be given for a multitude of reasons. Normally you may recieve up to 5 warnings before having your posting rights revoked, but it may take less depending on the offense. Disrespecting Staff members is a good way to get banned very fast, as is harrassing other members through the PM or Email system.
The Email system is for personal use only, and may not be used to send Spam mail.
If you should recieve a warning, and your conduct improves, the warning will eventually be taken back resetting your "warn level" back to 0.
7. The Chat Room is for your use. All I ask is that you respect the other people in there with you, and that you stick with one name while using the chat. Chat Mods have the ability to track your IP number should they feel the need to do so, and misuse of the room in any way will constitute an IP ban from it. This has no effect on your status on the message board itself, but may perhaps make the Board Mods keep a closer eye on your posts.
Also, I suggest that you register your name in the room. You may do this by opening the "commands" menu at the bottom of the chat window, clicking on "nickserv panel" and then finally clicking on the "register" button that appears on the window. This will allow your chat name to become password protected so that nobody else will use your name to enter the chat and cause trouble amongst fellow members.
8. Members here are not to discuss their trolling of other MLB message boards on this board. If you wish to do so, do it on your own time and webspace. It is making ME look bad and possibly driving new members away from my board.
9. Members are to have ONE account. This is for security reasons. Every message board on the internet has this rule, so please abide by it. From this moment on if a double account is found, the second account will be deleted and the member who made it warned.
If you wish to have your name changed, find the "name change" thread in the GM Updates forum. Post what you would like your name to be changed to. DO NOT create a second account just to get your name changed.
Please check back for future updates. There will be more added.
