Mine would probably be They Hunger for Half Life 1.

Great story, quite spooky & decent voice acting.

Whats yours?

To be honest single-player mods are so rare these days that it's hard to come across quality ones -- speaking of good mods, I sure hope I can try out HoM after the 7th Serpent crunch mode ends biggrin.gif -- but I have very fond memories of They Hunger! I also remember Neil Manke did this other mod for HL1 sponsored by PC Gamer... USS Darkstar!

I haven't played them yet but the Minerva: Metastasis levels by Adam Foster recently released for HL2 are apparently just sheer genius! Can't wait to get some time to beat those!

Yes I remember playing USS Darkstar, that was quite a decent experience as well....I remember buying that particular magazine just for it!

I think I've played Minerva too....quite a good mod that one!

Best mod??? ...... has to be Kung Fu 3. It's just so engaging and well-balanced.

Best SP mod??? ...... again has to be Katana (MP1). Something was missing all the time. But still the mod as a whole was an unique and interesting experience. So many creative efforts put together.

To be frank I played so many Doom3 maps recently and I have to agree they need to exercise their "creativity". Even when everything is top-notch, after finishing the map you feel like you just did some "time-pass" and that's bad. When you do something, make sure "it's worth it". tongue.gif

Favourite mod ever?

If multiplayer mods count as well, then it would be desert combat.
I like the mod though I have never played it on my own- this sounds strange but i have seen that game at friends a lot of times tongue.gif very cool thing

"They Hunger" was indeed very impressive, and I absolutely loved "USS Darkstar", a savant mix between Half-Life and System Shock 2 smile.gif
I've tried Minerva : Metastasis and I must say it is very good, even though the mapping is pretty similar to what has been seen in the original HL2 levels.
Nowadays I'm looking forward to testing "Red Orchestra : Osfront 41-45", it sounds & looks like it could be a great multiplayer "mod".

We'd definately be interested to hear what you have to say (both good & bad) about the mod if you get the chance to download it. smile.gif

Also on the topic of favourite multiplayer mods, TEAMFORTRESS for Quake 1 used to cop a real hiding at our LAN's - especially the Havoc6 map (which was where yo ou had to attack the enemies computer room & had Quad damage activate for everyone every so often).

Ahh the memories....

Hey, I see They Hunger: Lost Souls for HL2 has reached alpha status.

Sucks that you have to pay for it though.... dry.gif
